Review: I Heart Makeup Highlighters

Hello again,

I recently ordered two highlighters from the brand I Heart Makeup, (owned by Makeup Revolution) and with all honesty, have already have fallen in love with them.

The brand had just got their Unicorn Heart highlighter back in stock, in which I immediately added it to my basket. The heart-shaped highlighter consists of five shades that when applied create a ‘rainbow’ effect. From left to right, the colours go purple, blue, green, yellow and pink.

Although it doesn’t sound like the most appealing highlighter, it really looks beautiful in person and is worth purchasing to experiment the most in trend on social media.

Next, I ordered the Goddess of Love highlighter which is an iridescent, light golden shade. I chose to purchase this because it had such high-rated views on the website and from various people I follow on Instagram. The colour pay off is out of this world, especially for the price of £5.

Again, the highlighter comes in a heart-shaped box that’s a perfect size to carry around.

Tutorial: MORPHE 35U Palette

Last Friday, I received my first Christmas present which I couldn’t have been happier about. Noticeably by the title, it was make-up related and from a popular brand that I have tried products from in the past.

I had asked for the Morphe 35U Palette (also known as the Multi-Color Shimmer Palette) without knowing what to expect, but figured it would be foolproof for experimenting with.

I begin by watching numerous YouTube tutorials, trying to depict a funky - but not over exaggerated - makeup look that would make not only my eyes, but my blending skills stand out.

I came across one video that was an absolute game changer. It was created by Bianca Alcazar, who I hadn’t heard of until watching the tutorial. All of her videos are worth watching because they’re so quick and easy to recreate!

I found that when I recreated the look using all of the same shimmery shades, the pink blended effortlessly with the lilac and baby blue to form a rainbow trio effect of colours. I also added a hint of bright yellow to my inner corners (who doesn’t love yellow?!) along with the MAC Vanilla Pigment as my inner corner highlight, for extra dimension and for a simple sprinkling of sparkle.

Morphe Palettes can be purchased almost anywhere, and I 100% recommend them for due to the variety they offer to suit every season.

New Product Alert: NYX Cosmic Metals

Welcome back!

I couldn’t resist not spending a little sum of money (only £7 to be exact!) on one of the new NYX Cosmic Metals lip cremes.

The NYX Cosmic Metals range are described as “intense, multidimensional colour that collides with the glistening effect of gloss for out-of-this world lips”. Agreed.

They have released 12 shades which are all daring, fun and adventurous. I fell in love with the variety of colours because they’re the most up-to-date trend, excluding the neutral matte lip, that are creative and experimental. I chose the shade ‘Speed of Light’ which is a copper-hued metallic creme, suitable to pair with simple smoky eyes.

I also love how intensifying the pigment of the colour is because you can build it up in however many layers you want. I applied two full layers to intensify the metallic finish, creating more of a statement/fierce look.

However, in my opinion, the only downfall to the product is that the texture is more like a gloss compare to a creme. I have a major love/hate relationship with lip glosses because of how sticky they feel although the have such subtle and natural colour pay off.

Overall, I will certainly be purchasing more of the NYX Cosmic Metals range will I will be keeping you all updated on.

Thank you for reading,
